  • German gets 15 years for Cambodia child sex abuse. Reuters, 13 March 2008. A Cambodian court sentenced a German man to 15 years in jail on Thursday for the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl, the latest foreigner to be caught in the southeast Asian nation's drive to stop child sex tourism.
  • Cambodia, a 'haven' for sex offenders. Independent Online, 13 March 2008. Dozens of foreigners have been jailed for child sex crimes or deported to face trial in their home countries since Cambodia launched an anti-paedophilia push in 2003 in a bid to shake off its reputation as a haven for sex predators.
  • Demand for virgins brings girls into Cambodian sex trade at young age. International Herald Tribune, 14 September 2007. Cambodian men demanding young virgins as prostitutes is fueling the entry of underage women into the country's commercial sex trade, according to a report by a humanitarian group.

    Cambodian police said Tuesday they had cracked a major human trafficking ring involving Sri Lankan and Pakistani nationals involved in shipping people to third countries via Cambodia.
