  • Another woman dies as femicide legislation is debated in Chile. The Santiago Times, 21 August 2007. A twenty-year-old woman was stabbed to death Sunday morning by her former boyfriend in Santiago’s San Bernardo district, the latest in a series of femicide cases – now totaling 39 this year - that have led to a national debate about tougher legislation against such acts.
  • Violence Against Women Slips Through The Cracks In Chile. Santiago Times, 25 July 2007. Authorities on Monday charged Cristian Tiznado Luna with the bloody July 20th murder of Evelyn Sandoval Bassaure, a mother of two young sons.
  • Fine Tuning the Fight Against Domestic Violence. Inter Press Service News Agency, 8 May 2007. The trial of Alfredo Cabrera, a Chilean man accused of murdering his six-year-old daughter by throwing her from the window of their seventh floor apartment after trying to kill his partner, will open Wednesday, amidst a clamour for him to be handed the maximum sentence.
