  • Rape slur: Army officers recalled from Congo. Times of India, 19 March 2008. In a major embarrassment to India's proud peacekeeping record, three army officers have been recalled from their posting with the Indian contingent deployed in Congo, as part of the UN peacekeeping mission (MONUC) there, for allegedly indulging in "misconduct and inappropriate behaviour".
  • DRC: "Majority of rapists go unpunished". IRIN News, 18 March 2008. Sexual violence against women is rampant in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) but the majority of perpetrators, especially in "no-law" zones, go unpunished, according to a UN independent human rights expert.
