  • Djibouti to work with UN to eliminate female genital mutilation. UN News Centre, 9 May 2008. Djibouti has become the first country to launch a joint programme by United Nations agencies to move more quickly to eliminate female genital mutilation (FGM).
  • Regional conference discuss violence against woman. Yemen Times, 30 May 2007. A regional conference involving Egypt, Djibouti, Oman, Sudan, and Yemen kicked off on Wednesday in Sana'a. The conference is to discuss the violence against women particularly the physical violence acted in girls' circumcision as well as early marriage and deprivation of education.
