  • Supreme Court hears appeal on rape of disabled hostel child. The Namibian, 8 April 2008. A landmark judgement, in which the High Court last year ordered the Minister of Education to pay more than N$100 000 to a mentally handicapped child and her guardian because of an incident in which the child was allegedly raped by a teacher during a weekend when she was supposed to be in the safety of a State school hostel, went on appeal in the Supreme Court yesterday.
