The Dart Center is now accepting entries for the annual Dart Awards for Excellence in Coverage of Trauma, and they want your help in recognizing thoughtful, hard-hitting reporting on violence and tragedy produced this year.
Since 1994, the Dart Awards have honored innovative, ethical and effective reporting from North America on the impact of violence, crime, disaster and other traumatic events.
The Awards recognize media coverage that sets a new standard for grappling with the complexity of trauma and its impact on individuals, families and communities. Two cash prizes of $5,000 will be awarded.
The Dart Awards are unique: they are the only journalism prize to reward and inspire innovative, effective, ethical and in-depth trauma reporting across media boundaries. The Awards are a team prize, recognizing that effective trauma reporting demands a special commitment from news organizations. Winners are honored in a public ceremony at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York City.
The deadline for entries is January 30, 2019. Click here for full submission guidelines.
