Abstract
This study – conducted by researchers at the Centre for Social Science Research and the Adolescents Accelerate Research Hub at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, with funding from GIZ – examines the risk and protective factors shaping intimate partner violence (IPV) among adolescent and young mothers who face overlapping vulnerabilities such as early pregnancy, HIV risk, and social disadvantage. It aims to deepen understanding of the complex drivers of IPV in this group to better inform prevention, policy, and support pathways.
