SVRI Strategic Plan 2025-2030 aims to catalyse a connected, collaborative and creative field to address the challenges of building evidence on violence against women, violence against children, and other forms of violence driven by gender inequality.
While progress has been made in recent years in expanding research and practice, persistent roadblocks hinder the development of evidence based, effective, long-lasting solutions in low- and middle-income countries. Statistics indicate a high prevalence of VAW & VAC globally, but particularly in LMICs. At the same time, funding remains challenging, with limited engagement from duty bearers and a shortage of evidence-based programs. Furthermore, spaces for women’s rights are shrinking, and there are increasing threats to democracy.
SVRI’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan recognises these challenges and offers a new vision to foster a vibrant, nurturing and coordinated field to deliver impactful policy- and practice-relevant research. Building on the last 20+ years, SVRI’s work will continue to be grounded on our four strategic pillars and guided by six interconnected principles: collaboration, feminism, equitability, accountability, ethics, and intersectionality.
