On 22 September 2026 (3pm BKK / 1:30pm IST / 10am SAST), a media briefing was held to provide journalists with an overview of the SVRI Forum 2026 (5-9 October 2026, Bangkok), the largest global conference bridging research and practice on violence against women, violence against children, and other forms of gender-based violence.

During the media briefing, we presented the key themes and programme, explained how to navigate the conference and the accreditation process, introduced communications resources, and outlined reporting guidance and media opportunities.

The session also helps ensure that participating journalists are well prepared to cover the Forum through a trauma-informed, survivor-centred approach and have access to the necessary information and resources before the event.

The SVRI Forum 2026 will be held from 5-9 October 2026 at the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre, Bangkok, Thailand. It is co-hosted by the SVRI and the Prevention Collective, comprised of the UN Joint Programme on Gender-Based Violence Prevention in Southeast Asia, implemented by UN Women and UNFPA, and the Southeast Asia GBV Prevention Platform, both supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
