onfusion%20whether%20re-infibulation%20is%20authorized%2C%20and%20what%20its%20legal%20status%20is.%20Some%20respondents%20considered%20cosmetic%20vaginal%20surgery%20as%20a%20form%20of%20FGM%20and%20many%20were%20in%20favour%20of%20the%20medicalization%20of%20FGM.%20Gynaecologists%20were%20most%20commonly%20confronted%20with%20complaints%20related%20to%20sexual%20problems%20caused%20by%20FGM.%20Finally%2C%20the%20study%20also%20showed%20that%20only%20about%20a%20third%20of%20the%20gynaecologists%20were%20discouraging%20women%20from%20having%20their%20daughters%20excised.%5CnCONCLUSION%3A%20There%20is%20a%20need%20for%20a%20thorough%20discussion%20among%20all%20those%20concerned%20of%20the%20ethical%20and%20legal%20aspects%20of%20re-infibulation%2C%20medicalization%20of%20FGM%20and%20cosmetic%20vaginal%20surgery.%22%2C%22date%22%3A%222008-06%22%2C%22language%22%3A%22eng%22%2C%22DOI%22%3A%2210.1080%5C%2F13625180701780957%22%2C%22ISSN%22%3A%221362-5187%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22%22%2C%22collections%22%3A%5B%22N9FC2HDS%22%5D%2C%22dateModified%22%3A%222022-11-17T07%3A56%3A55Z%22%7D%7D%5D%7D
