Gender-based violence & HIV — Vulnerabilities, Challenges and Possibilities for Action
December 4 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, this seminar will explore critical intersections between HIV and intimate partner violence. We are honored to feature expert speakers:
- Dr. Andrew Gibbs, Senior Lecturer at the University of Exeter and Honorary Associate at the South African Medical Research Council, will provide a comprehensive analysis of the vulnerabilities faced by individuals experiencing gender-based violence in the context of HIV.
- Dr. Neema Mosha, Scientific Research Associate at LMU Munich and Research Fellow at the Mwanza Intervention Trials Unit in Tanzania, will share her research on effective strategies for addressing the challenges posed by these intersecting issues.
This seminar aims to highlight the urgent need for action and collaboration in tackling gender-based violence and its implications for HIV prevention and treatment. We invite activists, healthcare professionals, researchers, and anyone interested in gender health issues to join the conversation and contribute to a meaningful dialogue.
