Researcher Wellbeing (RES-WELL) Toolkit Launch
December 12, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
As researchers, we often face emotional challenges as part of our work, and this is especially true for researchers working on emotional and ethically challenging topics, such as climate change, racism and violence. However, such challenges are not always recognised by the people and institutions we work with, including research organisations, funding bodies, PhD supervisors and line managers. To address this, UCL, the University of Exeter and the University of Leeds have developed a new Researcher Wellbeing (RES-WELL) Toolkit designed to help research institutions bring about cultural change in the way they support researchers, including those working on emotionally challenging topics. This launch will provide an overview of the Toolkit and its development, and facilitate interactive group activities and discussions around how you can use it in your own organisation. The event would be particularly relevant for researchers working on emotionally challenging research themselves, as well as those leading teams, supervising PhD students, or developing EDI strategies for institutions, funders or ethics committees. The RES-WELL Toolkit has been developed with support from the Future Leaders Fellows (FLF) Development Network and is a collaborative effort between three FLF awardees from UCL, the University of Exeter and the University of Leeds.
