This session will share findings from SVRI Forum 2024 on the intersections between climate change and violence against women and violence against children (VAW/VAC).

Presenters will explore research linking climate-related shocks such as natural disasters, droughts, and environmental conflict, with increased risks of VAW and VAC. Drawing on data and lived experience from Samoa, Southern Africa, and Colombia, Nigeria, and the Philippines, this session highlights the urgent need to integrate climate considerations into violence prevention and response strategies.
