On December 15th (3pm-4pm SAST), Spotlight Initiative and SVRI – in partnership with AVP – hosted a webinar to share practical tools and lessons on how to design monitoring and learning processes that are feminist in approach, support shared decision-making and strengthen accountability to communities.

On 4 December 2025 (3pm-4pm SAST) we unpacked new findings from a systematic review and evidence gap map led by Emory University on what works to prevent and respond to TFGBV.
Launch of Evidence Gap Map on School-based GBV Prevention Programmes
The new Evidence Gap Map on school-based GBV prevention programmes, led by Stellenbosch University from South Africa, was launched on 25 November (3pm-4pm SAST), bringing together findings from over 50 studies across 50 countries, including 15 in Southern Africa.
Unearthing What We Know: Identifying and Collecting PBK
On 20 November (4pm–5pm SAST), the SVRI Faith & GBV CoP hosted their second session in the PBK, Faith & VAWG Series. This session addressed how to find and recognise PBK, and what different methods exist for gathering PBK. Hear from Lejla Ramovic and Mūmbi Kīgūtha.
Forum 2026 Abstract Writing Workshop
On 20 November (3pm-4pm SAST), SVRI and the Gender Violence Research and Collaboration Network (GVRCN) co-hosted an abstract writing workshop, to support early career researchers and practitioners preparing submissions for the upcoming Forum. This interactive session helps guide you through technical requirements, review criteria, and best practices.

On 18 November (15:00 – 16:00 SAST), the SVRI Faith and GBV CoP Working Group on Faith and Violence against Children hosted a webinar exploring intergenerational cycles of violence and their gendered impacts on women and children.

Why Does Practice-Based Knowledge Matter to Faith Responses to VAWG?
The SVRI Faith & GBV CoP hosted the first session in the PBK, Faith & VAWG Series. This interactive discussion, held on 15 October (15:00–16:00 SAST), explored why practice-based knowledge was essential to faith-rooted responses to violence against women and girls.
SVRI Faith & GBV CoP Networking Event
On 14 October 2025, from 16:00 to 17:00 SAST, the SVRI Faith & GBV CoP hosted a Networking Event. This virtual gathering provided a space for members to connect, share insights, and explore opportunities for collaboration. Presenters introduced their organisations and work, followed by an open discussion with all participants.
SVRI Forum 2026 Launch Webinar
On 2 October 2025, the SVRI hosted a virtual launch for the upcoming SVRI Forum 2026, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand (5–9 October 2026). The event, co-funded by the Australian Volunteers Program, introduced the Forum’s co-hosting partners and highlighted why the Forum remains a vital space for advancing efforts to end violence against women and children.
Gender-Based Violence in Higher Education Institutions: Evidence, Gaps, and Future Directions
On 29 September 2025, from 3–4pm SAST, we hosted a webinar to discuss the main findings of our multi-method research project on gender-based violence in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Africa and the Middle East. Participants explored the current evidence, identified gaps, and reflected on future directions for prevention and response.
