Tesmerelna Atsbeha is a philanthropic advisor and strategist in the gender and women’s rights field and movements, currently working as a member of the Secretariat Team for the GBV Funders Forum and as a Senior Fellow at the Global Women’s Institute. She served as part of the Women’s Rights team at Wellspring Philanthropic Fund with a focus on reproductive rights in Latin America and the global prevention of violence against women and girls. She currently advises metoo International, the Equality Fund, the ALL IN: Global Leaders for Ending GBV initiative, the Accelerator to End Gender-Based Violence, Global Women’s Institute at George Washington University, Breakthrough International, Urgent Action Fund and the Sexual Violence Research Initiative. She has written on issues of gender and racial justice in philanthropy for the Center for Effective Philanthropy, Non-Profit Quarterly, Alliance Magazine and Inter-Narratives.

Tesmerelna previously worked at UN Women in the policy division as a Gender & Health Advisor and at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health as part of the International AIDS Care and Treatment Program (ICAP), as well as part of sexual and reproductive health research and implementation projects with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Global Fund, and several academic institutions.
