SVRI Forum 2013: Evidence into action was our 3rd international conference and our first outside of South Africa. The conference was hosted in Bangkok, Thailand and built on the priorities identified at our two prior Forums. SVRI Forum 2013 broadened its scope to all forms of gender-based violence, not just sexual violence. Through this process the Forum successfully provided researchers working on other aspects of gender-based violence and researchers focusing on sexual violence an opportunity to interact with each other. Similarly, the conference also linked the child protection and SGBV fields and promote cross-sectoral dialogue and exchange on primary prevention of child abuse and neglect especially when linked to future prevention of sexual violence perpetration and victimisation.
