Examining the effectiveness of a gender transformative approach in economic empowerment programs to reduce intimate partner violence
Send A Cow (SAC) and the Global Women’s Institute will undertake a two-year research study to examine the effectiveness of SAC’s economic interventions on reducing rates of intimate partner violence in target communities in Western Kenya. Zona Segura: A trauma-informed youth-centered innovative solution to teen dating violence prevention in Honduras
This study will evaluate the effect of ZonaSegura on teens’ access and use of information, knowledge, attitudes to teen dating violence and teens’ self-efficacy to deal with teen dating violence perpetration and victimisation. Poster available in Pdf format.

Assessing the long-term impacts of Individual-Agency-Centered Training (I-ACT) - an empowerment training intervention - on gender based violence and household energy use in humanitarian settings in Rwanda
This study proposes to understand the long-term impacts and the potential pathways through which Individual-Agency-Centered Training (I-ACT)-  an integrated behavioural intervention focused on personal and economic empowerment and uptake and use of efficient and clean cooking technology - can impact gender based violence in a refugee camp setting. Training local leaders to prevent and reduce gender-based violence in their communities: Impact evaluation of Leaders in Action
This study will conduct a rigorous experimental evaluation of Leaders in Action (LIA) – a state-run gender based violence (GBV) prevention intervention in Peru – while addressing pressing limitations of previous studies and ensuring findings have direct implications for policy making. Diffusion of gender norms change at the community level in Nepal
This 12-month investigation will evaluate the diffusion effects of an existing norms change intervention - Change Starts at Home  - in communities in Nepal. This project will provide novel insights into the pathways of change that will be of immediate use to the field. Poster available in Pdf format

Adaptation and scale up of School Action Groups in schools in Bougainville and Papua New Guinea
Equal Playing Field (EPF), a Papua New Guinea (PNG)-based organization, implements an eight-week curriculum to primary school students aged 12 to 15 in PNG and is about to expand into the Solomon Islands. This volunteer-led curriculum delivered through School Action Groups focuses on healthy relationships, respectful behaviours, and gender equality. EPF will use their award to strengthen and evaluate the School Action Group design and develop a curriculum and manual to support scale up of the programme. Poster available in Pdf format.

“Geeks against GBV: Unlocking potential of new change makers and leveraging ICT solutions”
This Armenian based project aims at re-invigorating and evaluating a mobile phone application and peer-mentor network for the prevention of on-line violence and provision of necessary support in case such violence occurs. Poster available in Pdf format.

Evaluating a walking school bus as a school-related gender-based violence intervention in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
This study aims to understand community perceptions of learner safety, experiences of School-Related Gender-Based Violence (SRGBV), and risks associated with walking particular routes to and from school; and, to implement and evaluate a walking school bus intervention by comparing learners on key outcomes including experiences of SRGBV, academic achievement, absenteeism, and attrition across three study groups (walking bus intervention, departmental learner transport intervention and no intervention). Impact evaluation of the Adolescent Mothers Program of the Juanfe Foundation for the prevention of gender-based violence in Colombia
This study will evaluate the impact of the Juanfe Foundation’s Adolescent Mothers Program. Findings of the impact evaluation will be used to strengthen the programme and build knowledge on prevention of gender based violence in Colombia. Poster available in Pdf format.

Culture for change: Prevention of gender based violence in Cambodia

Prevention of intimate partner violence among newly married couples in Jordan
This project aims to investigate if an intimate partner violence primary prevention program for newly married couples in Jordan improves knowledge and attitudes on gender norms and violence; and helps couples to avoid gender based violence in their relationship. Poster available in Pdf format.
